How to Install Dassault Systèmes
License Server (DSLS)
What is Dassault Systèmes License Server?
The Dassault Systèmes License Server (DSLS) is a utility that manages Dassault licenses for products and helps guarantee that license control is implemented in compliance with the purchased Dassault products.
DSLS is installed on a server machine on your network.
Download Install Files
To install DSLS:
1. Go to: 3ds.com/support/download/
2. Select link License Server and License keys.
3. Select link DSLS R20##x Version #.###.#*.
4. Enter your 3DPassport credentials and Log In.
5. A download file prompt will open in your browser, select Save.
6. Once downloaded, select Open folder in the prompt.
Unzip Setup Files
We recommend using 7-Zip to unzip the file. If you do not have 7-Zip, you can download it by going to their website, click here.
1. Right-click on the downloaded file and go to 7-Zip->Extract Here.
2. Open folder DSLS.AllOS.
3. Open folder 1.
4. Double-click on SetupDSLSmsi.exe.
Install DSLS
1. In the Setup window, click Next.
2. Leave default settings and click Next.
3. Click on Allow access in the Windows Security Alert prompt.
4. Click Install.
5. Once the installation has completed, click Finish.
Download Install Files
Once the installation has finished, the License Administration Tool will launch automatically:
1. Click OK.
2. Open the Servers drop-down menu and click Connect > localhosts.
3. Once connected, open the License drop-down menu and click Enroll.
4. Locate the license files you wish to enroll in the Open dialog window and select them.
5. Click Open.
Download Install Files
1. Verify that all licenses have been successfully enrolled and click OK.
2. You should now be able to see the list of enrolled licenses under the Usage Per Feature tab.
3. Close the License Administration Tool.
Connect to DSLS from Client Machine (1 of 3) [OPTIONAL]
If DSLS has been installed on a separate machine than the client, or if you need to connect to multiple license servers for licenses, you will need to do the following steps:
1. Create a folder called Licenses in the C > ProgramData > DassaultSystems directory.
2. Create a file called DSLicSrv.txt.
3. List the server names and port numbers required.
4. Close the text file once done.
Connect to DSLS from Client Machine (2 of 3) [OPTIONAL]
1. Open a new Notepad session as Administrator from the Start menu.
2. Click on File > Open.
3. In the Open dialog window, go to C > Windows > System32 > drivers > etc and open the file hosts.
Connect to DSLS from Client Machine (3 of 3) [OPTIONAL]
1. Enter the IP address of the server followed by the server name.
2. Close the file once finished.
