1. Searching is Simple
Searching for parts, drawings, and assemblies in the 3DEXPERIENCE platform is as simple as looking up something on the internet. Just start typing the name of the file, part number, or really, any identifier that you can think of and the results just pop out! Still can’t find it? You can use 6W tags to quickly identify exactly what you need and get started.
2. Secure Access
You can securely access the 3DEXPERIENCE platform with your company email and password. This means no one can save over your work unless you, or someone with authority, authorize them to. This secure access is key in ensuring that you maintain ownership of your data. This also provides a sense of identity so if someone else does open your part or suggests design changes, you can see who it is. Full traceability with security puts your data in good hands.
3. Easy Revision Management
CAD data stored in the 3DEXPERIENCE platform has attributes that help identify the data uniquely. Promote your work from Work-In-Progress all the way to the Released state and create revisions to the next revision. This way even if someone opened your parts by accident, they won’t be able to save over your work.
4. See Change History Easily
Any changes you make in CATIA or Solidworks can be seen in the 3DEXPERIENCE platform and you can visually see the different changes being made. It is because of this capability that you can work concurrently on the same design with other engineers and designers working on different aspects of the larger project.
5. CAD Data Connected on-Cloud
By using the 3DEXPERIENCE interface directly in the browser you can now access the same parts you and your team work on using Google Chrome, Safari, Firefox, or Internet Explorer. For example, inspecting parts becomes a lot easier since you don’t need to open CATIA or Solidworks to do simple things like make measurements, make comments, and interact with your team. In your browser you can search for your parts, visualize them, manipulate them, manage your tasks and much more from any a tablet and even your phone.
